Occupational Therapist, PhD Candidate
University of Missouri-Columbia
Bridget Kraus is an occupational therapist (OT) and Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Missouri whose research focuses on the development, testing, and implementation of spinal cord injury (SCI) rehabilitation interventions to improve health outcomes, quality of life, and the ability engage in life more meaningfully for persons with SCI. Mrs. Kraus serves as an Editorial Board Fellow for the international peer-reviewed journal, OTJR: Occupational Therapy Journal of Research. Mrs. Kraus served as the lead SCI OT at an intensive inpatient rehabilitation hospital for several years which sparked her passion to pursue research to better serve the SCI community on a larger scale. Mrs. Kraus' current study was prompted by the detrimental effects that secondary health conditions have on the SCI population. She is currently evaluating the feasibility and acceptability of a chronic SCI virtual self-management program tailored to the unique needs of people with SCI and plans to complete her PhD in May of 2024.
