Jamilah Alqahtani started her professional journey as an RN after receiving her BSN in Nursing. She worked in critical care settings including emergency, neurocritical, and trauma specialties. In 2019, she graduated with Master of Nursing from Californian State University-Los Angeles becoming an Adult Gerontology- Acute Care Nurse Practitioner where she trained with stellar multidisciplinary teams. She is a PhD candidate at the University of Cincinnati (UC), College of Nursing where she obtained a Post-Master’s certificate in nursing education. She works as research assistant at UC. Her doctoral dissertation focus is on developing and testing a new traumatic brain injury (TBI) caregiver-report measure using exploratory mixed-methods approach. Her areas of research interest include health outcomes in patients and their family caregivers, rehabilitation, mixed-methods research, psychometrics, health disparity, social determinants of health, and nursing simulation.
