Emily Buchman is a Clinical Associate Professor and Assistant Director of the Georgia State University Occupational Therapy Doctorate program. Emily trained in the field of psychology and worked as a licensed clinical professional counselor in the community health setting prior to receiving her OTD from the University of Illinois in Chicago. Emily primarily worked as an occupational therapist in inpatient rehabilitation settings. She spent 9 years specializing in rehabilitation for spinal cord injury before assuming her current position in academia. Emily has coordinated and taught in the neurologic assessment and intervention series of courses and the assistive technology course for six years. Her current area of research relates to utilizing assistive technology as an educational tool and clinical intervention.
