Karen Waak

Physical Therapy Clinical Specialist
Massachusetts General Hospital

Karen Waak received her Master’s in physical therapy at Boston University, and her Doctorate in PT from the MGH Institute of Health Professions. She is a Board-Certified Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Clinical Specialist. Karen has been a physical therapist for 20 years, including the last 16 at Massachusetts General Hospital. As a PT Clinical Specialist, Karen is responsible for supervising and mentoring staff, and contributing to process improvement and program development across the hospital. Karen’s clinical interests include trauma and critical care, and she has spent most of her career practicing in these areas. Karen has participated in multiple critical care-based research studies and has been on co-author on several publications.
