James (goes by ‘Evan’) grew up in the southeast in Jackson, TN. He attended Samford University and majored in Biology. He worked for a Pathology private group in Birmingham, AL before attending medical school at the University of South Alabama. He considered a pathology career but identified that direct patient care was his main interest. He completed a residency at Medical College of Georgia, Augusta University and was selected as a Chief Resident and acted as academic faculty. He enrolled in a Hematology and Oncology Fellowship in the University of Tennessee Knoxville Medical Center. He has an active interest in community oncology, melanoma and skin cancer, lung cancer, cancer survivorship, and end-of-life care.
