Emre Umucu is an assistant professor of rehabilitation counseling and director of the Veteran Well-Being Lab. His educational background includes rehabilitation counseling psychology, mental health and addiction, and neuropsychology. His research goal is to examine modifiable biopsychosocial risk and protective factors affecting psychosocial adjustment, resilience, well-being and happiness, and employment in individuals with disabilities through the lens of contemporary evidence-based theories, including positive psychology. One specific line in his research program has focused on studying processes and effects associated with well-being and happiness of military veterans in college settings and veterans with psychiatric disabilities. He has more than 70 publications on psychosocial adjustment, employment and well-being in people with disabilities. He has been active in grants as principal investigator/co-principal investigator/evaluator of foundations, organizations and federal grants (e.g., NIH, DOE, HRSA, RSA).
