Dr. Ballistrea is Physical Therapist with over 21 years of clinical experience. She has extensive experience in inpatient rehabilitation setting, working with multi-traumatic injuries and neurological patient populations including SCI, TBI, Stroke, Parkinson’s disease and Multiple Sclerosis.
She has been with Research Service for 14 years with previous with Patient Safety Center working in Interdisciplinary Falls Clinic and working with caregivers who care for Veterans with Dementia Project Lifesaver program, annotations of medical notes and Prosthetic research for lower extremity amputees. She worked as a Project Manager for a multi-site research study Mission Reconnect and Team Lead for a Whole Health quality improvement project Whole Health Veteran and VA staff experience.
She currently works as a Program Manager for an enterprise wide initiative called TelePain-Empower Veterans Program (EVP) for Veterans with chronic pain. Her role includes facilitating National Quality Improvement calls with other VISN’s, oversees study timelines and budget for all three sites, day to day projecty needs, conducts weekly team meetings, schedules and prepares for quarterly and annual meetings.
Her Team Lead role includes maintaining timeline of the study including recruitment, data collection, data management, data analysis and assist with manuscript writing.
