Dr. Sions is an Assistant Professor within the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Delaware. She is the Director of the University's Limb Loss Clinic and the Principal Investigator of the Delaware Limb Loss Studies research laboratory, which is focused on improving health and participatory outcomes for individuals with limb loss and congenital limb difference. Her research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the State of Delaware, the Foundation for Physical Therapy Research, the Orthotic and Prosthetic Education and Research Foundation, and the private sector. She has been involved in more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific presentations and has published more than 20 manuscripts on limb loss and/or limb difference. She is a board-certified specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy and has been practicing as a licensed physical therapist for over 15 years.
