Dr Sliwa is a Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and the Chief Medical Officer ( CMO) at the Shirley Ryan Abilitylab. He has been practicing Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for 40 years which included inpatients, outpatients and consultations. In his present role as CMO he is also responsible for oversight of the physician practice and works in partnership with the Chief Scientific Officer he is responsible for the development and implementation of initiatives facilitating clinician -researcher interaction ,clinician involvement in research and the translation of research into clinicial care
