Association for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in the Family (SPAVO), Cyprus
BSc Psychology, MA Criminology, BTEC Professional Certificate in Counseling and Counseling Skills (Edexcel). Since 2016, Iro has been working at the Association for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in the Family (SPAVO), - currently as Head of Help Centre. Iro is also a registered mediator of the Cyprus Ministry of Justice and Public Order and has extensive experience as a researcher and coordinator in training programs in Greece and Cyprus on victims' rights, gender-based violence, restorative justice and mediation. She is also trainer at the National Center for Public Administration and Local Government in Greece; as well as registered trainer at the European Forum for Restorative justice. Since 2013, Iro has been a member of working groups in national and EU-funded projects on victims' rights, violence against women and gender-based violence, domestic violence, restorative justice and school bullying. She has also (co)authored peer-reviewed papers, book chapters and reports on victims' rights, gender-based violence, restorative justice and mediation, and school bullying. She is Associate at the RJ4All Institute (United Kingdom), and at the "Restorative Justice and Mediation" lab of the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences.
