Lorie Richards, PhD is Department Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Occupational and Recreational Therapies at the University of Utah. She is also Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy & Athletic Training at the University of Utah. Dr. Richards is a licensed Occupational Therapist and Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Occupational and Recreational Therapies at the University of Utah. She has been conducting clinical trials in stroke rehabilitation, mostly in motor rehabilitation, for over 27 years. She was previously faculty at the University of Kansas Medical Center and the University of Florida and a Research Health Scientist with the Brain Rehabilitation and Research Center at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center. She was a cite PI for the VARR&D funded VA Robotics trial and is currently part of the leadership team for NINDS StrokeNet at the University of Utah. She served as a member of the StrokeNet Recovery and Rehabilitation Workgroup and the Editor-in-Chief for the American Journal of Occupational Therapy, the leading Occupational Therapy journal worldwide. She is currently a co-editor for the intervention subsection for the journal Stroke.
