Amanda Garcia, Ph.D. is a Neuropsychologist at the James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital. Her research focuses on mild Traumatic Brain Injury in military/veteran communities, with a special focus on cognitive and psychological health outcomes in those with history of combat deployment. Dr. Garcia’s clinical care aims to identify veterans/service members with history of mTBI, characterize cognitive function, and improve outcome. She works closely with the Post-deployment Rehabilitation and Evaluation Program (PREP), an inpatient program for chronic mTBI. Given her clinical and research interests, her work often focuses on members of the Special Forces community, a unique group who often presents with multiple co-morbidities. Her work in this area has been recognized nationally and internationally.
