Dr. Anne K. Swisher PT, PhD is a Professor of Physical Therapy at West Virginia University and a Catherine Worthingham Fellow of the APTA. Her clinical research over 30+ years has focused on the role of exercise in the management of chronic diseases, including cardiopulmonary conditions and cancer. She specializes clinically in acute and critical care physical therapy and early mobilization. She holds a doctoral degree in exercise physiology and has twice been awarded Fulbright grants for research and teaching physiotherapists internationally. She was the Editor-in-Chief of the Cardiopulmonary Physical Therapy Journal for 7 years and was a board-certified clinical specialist in Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy for over 20 years.
