Beth Buttrey PT, DPT, NCS is a full-time Staff Physical Therapist at Shepherd Center and an
Adjunct Instructor in the South College-Knoxville DPT Program. She has practiced as a physical therapist
for 15 years with more than 10 years of experience in inpatient rehabilitation facilities with
primary emphasis in the evaluation and treatment of adults with acquired brain injuries. Dr.
Buttrey has served as an adjunct instructor since 2020 in the areas of Clinical Neuroscience and
Adult Neuromuscular Practice. She received her board certification as a Neurologic Clinical
Specialist (NCS) in 2015 through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialities. She has
been certified as a brain injury specialist (CBIS) through the Academy of Brain Injury Specialists
since 2015. She received her initial certification in Neuro-Developmental Treatment (C/NDT) in
2018 through the Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association (NDTA) and received re-
certification in 2021. In 2022, she also became a Certified Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist (CSRS)
through Neurorecovery Unlimited. Dr. Buttrey is a Level II Credentialed Clinical Instructor
through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
